Discount Calculator

Find the price after a discount and how much you save. Add a second discount to see the real combined saving, because “20% + 10% off” is not the same as 30% off.

Step-by-step working

  2. After a further 10%: $1,999.20 × 0.9 = $1,799.28
  3. You save $2,499.00 − $1,799.28 = $699.72

  3. Press Calculate.

Formula

Final price = Price × (1 − d₁) × (1 − d₂)

Combined discount = 1 − (1 − d₁)(1 − d₂)

Examples

  • 2,499 with 20% then 10% off: 2,499 × 0.8 × 0.9 = 1,799.28, a combined 28% discount.

Frequently asked questions

Does the order of the discounts matter?

No. 20% then 10% gives the same price as 10% then 20%, because multiplication order does not matter.
